A customizable theme
If you’re using WordPress then you have a ton of options for themes! A theme will change the layout and design of your website. And while there are a ton of great free themes out there most don’t have a ton of options for customization. You want a theme that allows you the freedom to make it work for your website and brand. And most of the time you will only get that with a paid option.
So when you go to purchase a paid theme look for one that can be customized to suit your needs.
A Social Media Scheduling Tool
Social media is a great way to get people to notice your blog or website. But you have to be active and consistently post great content to be able to grow your following. And some days it’s hard to find the time to do that. That’s where a scheduling tool comes in handy!
Buffer is my tool of choice. I use it to schedule out my tweets and Facebook posts in advance. I still do live posts but I when I want to share blog posts, my own and other bloggers, I schedule them out with Buffer.

One of the worst feelings is going back and reading your web copy only to find a bunch of typos and errors! That’s where Grammarly comes in. It’s basically spell check on steroids. It doesn’t just check for correct spelling. It also looks at punctuation, subject-verb agreement, and more.
I honestly didn’t know how much I overused commas until Grammarly! And I feel a lot more confident hitting publish on my posts now that I use Grammarly. Especially if I don’t have time to let a post sit but I need to publish it quickly. I use the free version but they also offer a premium version.
A Backup system
You don’t want to lose all your hard work, do you? So you need to make sure that you regularly back up your website! I’ve been very fortunate that I’ve never lost anything from my blog or website but I’ve heard so many horror stories that I’ve never wanted to take any chances!
So I use the UpDraft plugin to back everything up. They have a free version but the paid version is only $70 dollars a year which is less than six dollars a month. Definitely worth it to have peace of mind about my website.
A Virtual Assistant
You may be thinking that all those items above are great but what if you still don’t have the time to implement them? Well, that’s where I come in!
If you hate the thought of customizing a theme I can do that for you. As your virtual assistant, I can run your social media tools for you! Or install plugins like Updraft. I can also make sure that all your plugins stay up-to-date. And as great as Grammarly is sometimes it’s nice to still have human eyes on your writing.
