We have all been there before. Nothing seems to be going your way, and you can’t seem to get things back on track. Stressful days happen all the time, but having a few self-care ideas handy can make those stressful days a little more bearable! Here are ten self-care ideas for stressful days.
Have a spa day at home
Spa days can be costly, but you can bring a few of those luxuries into your home! Grab a face mask from the drug store, paint your nails, and spend a little time relaxing. You can even heat a few washcloths to put on your legs and neck.
Binge-watch your favorite show or movies
Mindless TV really can cure most things! Spend some time watching a show or one of your favorite movies if you have a little extra time on your hands. Grab a box of your favorite candy and binge away.
Do nothing
Doing nothing can be oddly satisfying after a stressful day. Just lay there and unwind for a few minutes before you keep going with the rest of your day.
Write in your journal
If you enjoy writing and find it therapeutic. Consider writing in a journal. Get out all of your stressed-out thoughts so you can better focus and clear your mind.
Take a nap
If a day has wiped you out, consider taking a nap! Naptime isn’t just for kids and can make you feel a whole lot better. If it’s too late to rest, consider going to bed early instead.
Enjoy a hot bath
A hot bath will help you relax your muscles and spend a little time unwinding after a long day. Add a bath bomb or some bubble bath mix to make your bath even more relaxing.
Go out with your friends
There is nothing shameful about blowing off some steam by going out with the girls! Go out for drinks, dinner, or get out together. You could also go out to do an activity like go to the movies or do some retail therapy.
Take the night off from making dinner
Instead of slaving in the kitchen trying to make dinner, unless that’s your thing, take the night off. Order a pizza or make a frozen meal and call it a day! If cooking relaxes you, then maybe take tonight to make something special for yourself instead.
Try doing some yoga
Yoga can be great for relieving stiff muscles and helping you relax. If you’re feeling tense, find a free YouTube video that you can follow along, or do some stretches if you’re more experienced.
Spend time doing a hobby you enjoy
We often find that our hobbies are the last things we do when we’re stressed. However, these can be just what we need to destress after a long day. Find a hobby you enjoy and spend some time with that hobby when you’re having a stressful day.
I hope that these ideas have helped inspire you to do something to take care of yourself when you’re feeling stressed out!
