What do you want your community to do when they land on your website?
Whatever that action is, your calls to action will help you to get your visitors to actually take that action.
A call to action is like a friendly nudge that encourages visitors to do what you want them to do on your website, whether it’s signing up for a newsletter, booking a call, or making a purchase. You’ll usually see them as buttons or messages that tell you exactly what to do.
Having the right call to action at the right time is so important because it helps guide visitors to take the actions that are most important to you and your business. Whether your goal is for them to join your community or try out your services. We want to make it as easy as possible for them to take the next step!
Here are 6 places you should include your Main CTA on your website:
For most coaches and service providers, your main Call to Action will be to book a discovery or sales call with you. The following are some of the best spots to showcase your main CTA.
1. Your homepage’s hero section.
Your main Call to Action should prominently feature here. Placing it in the hero section ensures it’s the first thing visitors see and makes it very clear what you want them to do now that they are on your website.
2. The bottom of your homepage
Reiterate your main Call to Action here, but with new copy and a differently worded CTA. This provides a reminder and another opportunity for visitors to engage with your offer.
3. A button CTA in your main navigation.
Include a descriptive yet simple CTA like “Book a Call” or “Work With Me” in your main navigation. This ensures easy access to your primary offer regardless of which page the visitor is on
4. In relevant blog posts
Integrate CTAs within your blog posts, aligning them with the content to encourage engagement. This could be inviting readers to explore your work with me page or sign up for a discovery call.
5. On each main page of your website
Reinforce your primary Call to Action across all main pages of your website. Consistency helps to reinforce the message and increase conversion rates. The main pages you want to include your CTA on are the About, Work with Me, (don’t just tell me people what you offer, provide a way for them to book a call) and Contact pages.
6. Website’s Footer
Utilize the footer section of your website to include a Call to Action. This ensures that even visitors who scroll to the bottom of the page have an opportunity to engage further.
5 places to include a secondary Call to Action
For most of us, a good secondary call to action will be to grow our email list. Here are the best spots to put a CTA to sign up for your email list.
1. On your homepage
Provide a prominent sign-up option for your email list on your homepage. This ensures that visitors who might not be ready to book a call with you can still engage with your content and learn more about you.
2. In your blog’s sidebar
Include a visually appealing sign-up form in your blog’s sidebar to capture the attention of readers who are interested in your content.
3. In your blog’s footer.
If your theme allows it, add a CTA sign up for your email list that only appears in the footer on your blog posts. Scroll down to take a look at mine for an example. This will provide another opportunity convert visitors into members of your community
4. An exit intent pop-up.
Increase engagement by implementing an exit intent pop-up, offering visitors one last chance to subscribe to your email list before leaving your website. This means when someone goes to exit your website by closing the tab, they get another chance at your offer in a pop-up!
5. A sign-up form embedded in relevant blog posts.
Embed sign-up forms within your blog posts, particularly in content related to your email list’s focus. This offers a seamless way for readers to subscribe while consuming relevant content.
Remember, consistency is important in driving action. By strategically placing your Calls to Action throughout your website, you increase the likelihood of conversion and ultimately achieve your business goals. So, don’t hesitate to showcase your offers multiple times—it’s all about guiding your visitors towards the desired action!
